Organization's Summary Statement: The Women's Health Interdisciplinary Research Collaborative (WHIRC) at the University of Maryland is a campus-wide initiative to foster interdisciplinary research, educate future leaders, and inform policy and practice to improve the lives of women across their lifespan. WHIRC will support women’s health research across campus through seminars, seed funding, career development programs, and experiential learning opportunities. In addition, WHIRC will run a pilot project focused on maternal cardiovascular health in which community-engaged public health, education, and bioengineering approaches will be integrated using advanced AI. This initiative is funded through UMD's Grand Challenge initiative. WHIRC is seeking a Program Coordinator (Faculty Specialist) with strong program management, communication, and writing skills, along with a desire to apply those skills to women's health research. This position reports to WHIRC leadership and is responsible for administration, coordination, and reporting for WHIRC initiatives. The coordinator will also liaise with campus administrative units to support project activities and assist with external stakeholder outreach. Responsibilities include project management, research and logistical coordination, meeting and seminar organization, strategic communication and website management, reporting activities, and internal and external grants administration support. This is a full-time 12-month appointment, renewable for up to three years based on annual performance evaluations and continued project funding.
